If you spend a lot of time hunched over a screen, have you ever noticed that you’re hardly breathing? How you breathe can really affect your life, from sleeping badly to feelings of anxiety and low mood. Relearning how to breathe properly can do wonders for your nervous system.
Don’t make the mistake most people make. When they hear ‘breathe in’ they pull their tummies in. And when they hear ‘breathe out’ they push their tummies out. Correct breathing is the opposite.
Once you realise this and correct it, everything improves – your energy levels, sleeping, mood, complexion, thinking. It stands to reason, you are taking in more oxygen.
Correct breathing keeps anxiety at bay and gives you a balanced mental outlook. Just taking a few minutes every day to do some breathing exercises can strengthen the lungs and make them more elastic. It will transform your life.
